• 4500 pallets stored in bonded warehouse
• Global exoort to 90 countries
• Daily distillery collections

Inver House is also active in the warehousing and blending of Scotch whisky, with its main warehousing and head office centrally located in Airdrie. They are perfectly placed to service the international market with warehousing for 500,000 barrels of whisky, plus state-of-the-art blending and laboratory facilities.

Inver House also distills the premium brand  Caorunn Gin at Balmenach Distillery and  produces vodka brands from its Airdrie site.

The Russell Group has provided transport, warehousing, tanker movement and re-work/re-pack solutions for Inver House for ten years. With  Inver House achieving year-on-year growth of 9-10%, helped by a move away from barrelled products (bulk whisky supply in isotankers and drums) into the premium branded markets, their relationship with the Russell Group has flourished.
Carntyne Transport, a subsidiary of the Russell Group and specialists in the movement of bulk liquids, has responsibility for the transfer of spirits from the distilleries to Inver House’s main warehouse in Airdrie, where the whisky is blended and bottled. When third party bottling facilities are used, the Russell Group executes daily stock transfers from Inver House’s own bottling hall and from third party contract bottlers. Once bottled, the Russell Group transports the whisky to a HMRC bonded warehouse in Glasgow. The warehouse’s resources and   equipment have been continually expanded to meet customer requirements.

At any one time around 4,500 pallets of product are held at the warehouse and movement of spirits is controlled via picking and packing orders as directed by Inver House. The Russell Group  prepares consignments for global export and distribution to over 90 countries via the appropriate HMRC online service.
Around 15-20% of the global stock held at the Russell Group’s warehouse facility is destined for UK distribution. Consignments are re-worked and repacked  via a state-of-the-art contract packing facility, which provides flexibility and a fast turnaround. It also provides cost savings by not having to outsource the re-work.

In delivery terms, the UK market amounts to 1-2 collections and 15-20 deliveries daily, based on a 4-day KPI from order placement to delivery. In practice, 70% of deliveries are usually made on day 2 or 3,  providing a fast turnaround of orders for Inver House’s customers and minimising the potential for stock damage in transit. Traceability on deliveries is via online access to PODs or via the Russell Group’s customer service operation.
Barbara Russell Scott, Logistics & Supply Chain Manager at International Beverage Holdings Ltd, said: "The Russell Group has been part of Inver House’s operations family for many years  and they provide a trusted and reliable service at all times. They are experienced in all facets of our complex operation and are instrumental in supporting our goals and objectives.”
